Well, it's been a long time, but I'm finally back on track. In addition to a partially torn rotator cuff and a fractured patella, my latest issue was two broken fingers and about 20 stitches on my right hand, which is of course my painting hand!Things are all good and I've finally started painting again. During the past year, I Have been fortunate to have had several pastels accepted into National and Regional Exhibits and have sold a few paintings as well. In June at the IAPS Convention I was awarded my Masters Circle Award! It was such an honor to be with all the other wonderful artists who also received this prestigious award! I was also asked by my great friends Terry and Marie Ludwig to create some paintings to advertise the new Terry Ludwig Sunrise/Sunset 60 piece pastel set! That was very exciting! January 2016 started off great with the acceptance of "Late March Sky" into the Duxbury Art Association 2016 Winter Juried Show and was awarded an Honorable Mention Award. In addition, "Low Tide Reflections" and "The Grand Finale" were accepted into the Hull Lifesaving Museum "Sea and Sky" Juried Exhibit.

I'm sure you can all relate to the curve balls life throws at us and how things get put on the back burner because other things take priority. The last couple of years have been like that for me, including moving from our home of 30 years and dealing with all that "stuff", family issues, and just recently fracturing a vertebrae in my back, which really stopped me in my tracks. My new mantra is this great quote: "Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference." I am almost back to my regular teaching and daily schedule, so now I will be posting news on a regular basis. Stay tuned!
